| Our company has been serving North
Carolinians since 1934. We began as a radio repair shop in downtown
Greensboro only a few hundred feet from where we sit today. As the years
passed, technology brought television to the American public.
Immediately we began repair on black and white televisions. Later we
added repair and retail sales of appliances. By the mid 1950s we were
selling and servicing nationally recognized brands of appliances and
televisions. As technology progressed, home stereos soon became popular.
By the late 1960s console stereo players, color televisions, built-in
appliances, side-by-side refrigerators, and a grand variety of
additional home items were in BIG demand. Through the 1970s, 1980s and
1990s advances in electronics brought many changes and introductions,
including CD players and recorders, micro electronics, affordable
microwave ovens, lighter weight items and the amazing concept of
refrigerators with digital readouts or with built-in televisions.
Computers also made fast and furious inroads into our lives. Steele &
Vaughn has been in the thick of all these changes, new product
introductions, sales and service.
In 1979,
we also began renting home furnishings. We opened our moving division in
1997.
Today we rent furniture, appliances and televisions, we repair
televisions, and we offer residential and commercial moving. We are a
Better Business Bureau member, a member of the Association of
Progressive Rental Organizations, and we hold membership in the North
Carolina Mover's Association.
We sell pre-owned furniture and accessories, and we
sell moving supplies, including boxes and mattress bags. We have a warm
and friendly staff ready to assist you with rental, moving and service
solutions.
